Our members believe passionately in the power of tax relief for innovation and its capacity to drive growth in the UK economy. But we also understand the risks presented by non-compliance with the HMRC R&D Tax Credits Scheme.
FERDA, the Federation of R&D tax Agents, was formed to improve the standard of advice provided to claimants under the Scheme.
By engaging a FERDA member, claimants can draw comfort that their service provider’s staff and procedures have been independently assessed against a set of protocols delivering industry best practice.
FERDA is a professional-standards body, whose membership is open to all established R&D-focused tax-agent firms who pass a set of rigorous compliance checks.
Upon satisfying FERDA’s independent compliance monitors as to the integrity and suitability of both their operations and their principals, a firm will be offered membership.
To preserve that status, member firms submit to ongoing scrutiny of their compliance activity, with strict disciplinary action taken in the event of non-compliance.

Membership of FERDA confers certain benefits. These include:
1. The right to carry the FERDA best-practice badge on your company’s marketing materials
2. Access to a network of your peers
3. Industry advocacy and lobbying support
Most of all, it provides your firm, its stakeholders and clients with the knowledge that your operations fit with industry best practice – a vital asset in what has been at times a challenging operational environment.
Being a FERDA member makes you part of the only professional-standards body for the R&D-advisory sector. That means you will benefit from expert support from a network of peers who are committed to delivering best-practice advice for their clients.
If you believe in ethical standards for our industry, FERDA is for you.
